TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK – MAY 4 – 8

Our teachers and staff are amazing and we hope you will join us in recognizing them during the week of May 4 – 8. An email will be going out for ways to help celebrate and contribute. Thank you for supporting our dedicated teachers and staff!

ACDS 60TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION– MAY 9 

We are celebrating Aylett’s 60th anniversary on Saturday, May 9, at Brooke’s Bank Farm. This a community event and tickets are on sale now. A special invitation went home to all families. Come celebrate this amazing milestone and enjoy a night of dinner, dancing, and an exciting auction. Tickets can be purchased here. 

K – 5TH AUTHOR TO VISIT ACDS – APRIL 20

Nationally touring author and illustrator Jonathan Miller, creator of The Adventures of Sammy the Wonder Dachshund books, will be visiting with K-5th grade students on Monday afternoon! If you would like to order one or more of his books, he will sign and distribute them during his visit. Paper order forms are coming home with students today. 

ACDS SUMMER CAMPS

Parents: Be sure to register your child as soon as possible to secure their spot for Summer Camp! Our full-day camps are limited to 25 campers per day, and several weeks are already filling up quickly. Registration for half-day specialty camps will end on May 15. Any camps that do not fill may be canceled.

All half-day specialty camps currently have openings! 

LEAGUE OYSTER ROAST – APRIL 25, 4 – 8 PM (NEW HOURS)

Only two more weeks before our next event. We will have live music from Southern Tide, all you can eat oysters (4-6) and your favorite golden beverages AND wine. We will also be serving hamburgers and hotdogs. Thank you to Ben & Hannah Cox and Austin & Amber Burch for chairing this year’s event.

Tickets went home with each family before spring break. There is also an online option to purchase tickets.

ALL parent volunteers must purchase a ticket to attend. HOWEVER, you can earn ONE FREE ticket for every 10 that you sell. This is a great incentive to sell your tickets so you can enjoy the fun for FREE. To take advantage of this deal, you must turn in your ticket money by, Monday, April 20. We must submit our oyster order that day to the vendor.

The Sign Up Genius was sent out for you to pick a volunteer shift. WE NEED YOUR HELP to make this event successful!

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS

Battle of the Books will be held in the library on May 1, at 9:00.

REQUIRED VACCINATIONS

Class of 2028 Parents: Rising 7th grade students are required to have Tdap and Meningitis vaccinations. The HPV is optional but highly recommended. CDC information is linked below. Please schedule these vaccinations ASAP!

RISING KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS – CLASS OF 2035

ALL rising kindergarten students will need an updated school entrance form for the 2026-27 school year. Please make sure you schedule an appointment before the first day of school on September 2. Also, click here to review our Standard Dress Policy as you prepare to shop for kindergarten. It is also listed in the Student Handbook.
