In recognition of Good Friday, school will dismiss at noon on Friday.  The buses will run their normal routes, but there will be NO lunch or extended day services.  School will also be closed for Easter on Monday, April 22.

We are still in need of volunteers for our upcoming Oyster Roast.  ALL families are required/encouraged to work our League events.  The profits are used to help all students at ACDS.  Please signup for your shift ASAP.
Help is still needed in the following areas:

  1. Set up
  2. Servers for fried oysters
  3. Servers for raw/roasted oysters
  4. Trash detail
  5. Clean up

TICKETS went to each family and you are encouraged to sell all 10.  You will earn ONE FREE ticket for every 10 you sell if turned in by Thursday, April 25!  The SignUp Genius has been sent out to pick a work shift.  If you are unable to work the event, please attempt to sell your tickets and consider a DONATION to offset expenses.  We look forward to a great event!

We are excited to extend an opportunity to ALL of our families and friends to travel out west together next April! Aylett is partnering with Grand Classroom to provide families and alumni with a fun and educational trip to the Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion National Parks during Spring Break next year. The 5-day all-inclusive trip will take place April 4-8, 2020 and will feature amazing sights and experiences for children and adults. Please view our website for additional details and join us for an informational meeting following the Middle School Art Show at ACDS on Tuesday, May 14th at 6:45 PM. I am excited about this opportunity and am available to answer questions you may have in the meantime!  Thanks, Tara

To fulfill a personal goal, Aylett's music teacher, Kristi Reynolds, plans to swim across the Rappahannock River on Saturday, June 8th! She would like a boat or two to escort her, for safety reasons. If you plan to be boating on June 8th and could assist Kristi with reaching her goal, please contact her at kreynolds@acdspatriots.net.

For the last two years, our school community hit the 100% mark for parent participation in our annual fund campaign!  This is such an important distinction for our school.  This year we are looking to repeat the level of successful participation.

As parents who have chosen Aylett Country Day School for your children’s education, we are already investing in their futures.  However, tuition dollars alone do not cover the costs of the excellent experience at ACDS.  Funds that are raised through annual giving, League events, and from outside grants are crucial to the success of Aylett and our children.

Please help us achieve 100% parent participation again by giving to the Annual Giving Fund.  Any amount helps our cause!  Donations can be made online: http://acdspatriots.net/annualgiving.html.  Thank you very much for your support as we move toward our goal of $100,000.00.

As of today we have received 148 re-enrollment contracts!  Adherence to the deadline date is important as we plan staffing and class sizes for next year.  We are currently working on the 2019-20 budget and it is imperative that we know how many students will be filling our classrooms.  Thank you, again, for your support as we strive to fulfill our mission of helping each child reach his or her full potential.
