2013 Distinguished Alumna Award

Diane Longest Pierce, Class of 1982, was named the Aylett Country Day School Distinguished Alumna for 2013. Diane has been a strong supporter and advocate for ACDS for many years. As an alum, she supported the mission of the school through special gifts and functions. Now as a parent of three Aylett students, her continued support is in overdrive. She has served as an alumni Class Agent and as a Parent Class Captain making calls to help raise Annual Funds for the school for many years. She also works diligently with the League serving as Committee Chairperson for various parts of the Country Fair and the school’s spring event each year. Most recently, she along with three other co-chairpersons, has organized, planned, implemented and successfully raised over $100,000+ dollars for the school through the Urbanna Oyster Festival. Diane’s calm, organized leadership is a true reflection of her family and their history and dedication to ACDS. Submitted by Robin Taylor

Legacy

The Legacy Continues at ACDS!

We are so very proud to announce that for the 2013-14 school year, we have 45 legacy students! That is 36% of our student body. As alums, you already know firsthand the value of an Aylett education. Thank you for continuing to support the mission of ACDS, and allowing us to be your school of choice for excellence in education. This photo was taken at this year's Annual Fall Fair on September 28.

SignThe Class of 2013 donates new school sign!

The Class of 2013 generously provided a new sign for the front of our school. It is a beautiful way to welcome students and visitors to our campus. Please come by and see for yourself, just how great it looks!

The Class of 2014 visits Sheridan Mountain Campus

Aylett students have been going to the mountains of Luray, Virginia, for over 17 years. The Class of 2014 enjoyed zip-lining, a high ropes course, hiking, and other team building exercises on their trip. The campus offers a blend of environmental activities and adventure education in a beautiful, natural setting. The Mountain Campus experience centers on respect for one's self, respect for others, and respect for the environment. Please share a favorite Sheridan memory by emailing Ayron at apitts@acdspatriots.net.

The ACDS Northern Neck Alumni Happy Hour was a great success!

Last month over 25 alums attend the ACDS Norther Neck Alumni Happy Hour at O'Shucks in Tappahannock. Guests enjoyed local cuisine and cocktails, while visiting with former classmates and friends. Thank you to everyone who attended. A spring event will be scheduled soon. Please let me know if you have any event locations you would like us to consider!
